The controversial Tanishq advertisement is another in a long line of advertisements showing selective secularism. The new “Ekatvam” advertisement by Tanishq Jewelers featured a Hindu-Muslim wedding and caused a lot of uproar on social media. So much so that, Tanishq finally removed the advertisement.
Was the advertisement removed because secular India has departed, and Indians do not want to see the peaceful co-existence of the two religions suggested by Shashi Tharoor and Chetan Bhagat? Did Tanishq drop the ad due to trance extremism?
